We decided with our American and German friends to perform a ceremony in honor of those who fell during the Battle of Bloody Gulch on 12 and 13 June 1944.

A souvenir plaque will be unveiled June 13, 2015 written in French, American and German which will be a first in Normandy. Robert Noody American veteran of the 101st Airborne Division, Company F will be honored to have destroyed not far from Donville mansion a German tank during this terrible battle. Civilians will be associated with this ceremony in memory of the eight shot of the Common Méautis and 23,000 civilians who lost their lives during the Battle of Normandy. Veterans will be present as well as official representatives (associations of civilian victims, elected officials …)

The memorial plaque will be placed on one of the walls of the property which still bears the scars of that deadly battle. We invite all those and all those who want to gather to participate in this ceremony is a symbol of reconciliation between peoples
